Base URL and versions
The WhatsApp API base URL is https://wa.hostmentor.com/v3. How v3 stays stable, what counts as a breaking change and how much notice you get.
All requests go to:
https://wa.hostmentor.com/v3- HTTPS only. Plain HTTP is redirected to HTTPS, and a redirected
POSTloses its body, so always usehttps://. - Send request bodies as JSON with
Content-Type: application/json. The two file uploads are the exception: they use form data or raw bytes, as their pages explain.
v3 is the current version, and it's stable. Within v3 we only add things: new endpoints, new optional fields, new webhook events and new values in existing lists. Build your code so it ignores fields and values it doesn't recognise. If we ever need to change something in a way that could break your code, it will come as a new version. You'll get at least 12 months' notice before v3 stops working.
